The Village at Allandale is committed to creating a community that enhances the quality of life for residents in a supportive, loving, and happy home. We are dedicated to helping our residents maintain their independence, preferences, and family relationships with dignity and respect. We are also dedicated to providing affordable care for both those residents who can afford the care they need independently and those who may need assistance in attaining that care.

The Village at Allandale is a private pay facility, but there are some options available for financial assistance for those who may qualify. Explore the resources below to understand more about financial assistance programs available to those considering assisted living.

Tennessee Choices Program

TennCare CHOICES in Long-Term Services and Supports (or CHOICES for short) is for adults (age 21 and older) with a physical disability and seniors (age 65 and older). CHOICES offers services to help a person live in their own home, community, or in an assisted living facility. CHOICES can assist with daily living activities and provide nursing care if needed. Contact us to learn more about CHOICES.

To learn more about CHOICES, visit or call (1-866-836-6678) the First TN Area Agency on Aging & Disability in Johnson City. You can also reach about the CHOICES program by visiting their website.

Veteran’s Benefits

Veterans, and their spouses, who have served our country during a wartime may qualify for benefits to help them pay for assisted living. It is not required that the veteran served in active combat or overseas but it is required that they already be occupying an assisted living facility and meet certain income requirements.

Long-Term Care Insurance

Long-term care insurance is NOT part of health insurance. Long-Term Care Insurance is privately purchased insurance bought for the purpose of paying for assisted living or nursing homes. People who buy long term care insurance pay a yearly fee to stay enrolled and keep the insurance.

If a potential resident isn’t sure how much their policy will pay, we can help them determine that. Usually, the policy will say how much will be paid per day to an assisted living facility. Once the resident moves in, they contact their long-term care insurance company who sends forms for our facility to complete.

Once the resident begins receiving benefits, the insurance company will either send a check directly to our facility each month or will send it to the resident to reimburse them for the previous month’s statement depending on the policy the resident has. Policy holders pay into long-term care insurance privately for years, but once they start using it, the pay-off is great!

Contact us to schedule a visit, meet our team, and explore our facility as you choose your loved one’s new home.
