Mission & History

Our Mission

The Village at Allandale is committed to creating a community that enhances the quality of life of elders in a supportive, loving, and happy home. We are dedicated to helping our residents maintain their independence, preferences, and family relationships with dignity and respect. Our innovative approach to long-term care empowers residents and staff to reimagine what assisted living can be. Our work is driven by CARING: compassion, accountability, reliability, integrity, nurture, and growth. Through our interactions with seniors, their families, and fellow staff, you’ll see these values reflected in everything we do.

Our History

In 2003, The Village at Allandale opened its doors as Kingsport Senior House, a single home for 24 residents. The 2010 expansion added two family-oriented homes with 24 residents living in each. In the spring of 2016, we remodeled and updated the original building, Yesterday’s Place (formerly Kingsport Senior House), and made adjustments to turn that building into a secured memory care home. We made the same security upgrades to the facility directly across the street, Virginia’s Garden, to create another secured memory care facility due to the rising need for memory care in our community. Today, we are proud to be the only assisted living facility in the area to offer the innovative nationwide trend of smaller, home-like living areas.  Smaller homes lead to improved personal attention and greater satisfaction in an environment where relationships truly blossom.
